Wow!

More great results – best so far – in our paper towel seed germination experiment series.

This involved tomato seeds. A seed packet was divided in two, resulting in 133 seeds per group. The experiment ran for one week, Sept. 24 – Oct. 1, 2015. Conditions for both plates were identical. The only difference was that one plate received Hydreva water while the other got untreated water from the same source.  A single coffee mug filled with water beside each plate was the water source for this week-long experiment.  Each plate had 3 layers of paper towel under the seeds and 2 over. Watering was performed twice daily. The plates were separated by about a meter, neither receiving direct sunlight.

Such a simple experiment, yet such dramatic results

More seeds germinated on the Hydreva plate, yet the total number of ungerminated seeds on both plates was around 50%.  Germination rates are somewhat less sensitive to “water quality” – versus overall experimental conditions and seed quality – versus growth rates and plant health following organic tomato nutritional differencegermination.  These post-germination results have tremendous implications for Hydreva’s anticipated impact on the worlds of gardening and agriculture in years to come.

Here’s one way of summarizing the results of this week-long tomato germination experiment;

Germinated seeds in the most advanced growth category – with 2″ or longer root systems – comprised 1.5% of all seeds on the regular water plate, but 34.5% of seeds on the Hydreva plate.

If we instead measure seeds with tendrils (root systems) of 1″ or more, that involved 20% of the regular water seeds, 43% of the Hydreva seeds.  Either way, the results are really substantial.

Regular water Hydreva water
Small (< 1/2″ tendril) 27 10
Medium (1/2″ – 1″ tendril) 9 9
Large (1″ – 2″ tendril) 25 12
Jumbo (> 2″ tendril) 2 46
Total Germinated Seeds
63 77

Here are three sets of photos, taken on the final day of the experiment.  The last set shows seeds sorted into groups according to tendril-root development. The Hydreva plate in this set has no ungerminated seeds because there wasn’t enough room to show them.  Each plate has 133 seeds.
